Fall My ASS......
Dear Supreme Being that controls the weather,
I a very annoyed that tomorrow is the official start of fall and I am still having to deal with temps over 100 degrees. I find it ridiculous that I can still wear shorts and a t-shirt in late September. Can you at least give me capri and a light jacket weather? I would like to open the windows of my home and let the somewhat fresh Arizona air into my house. Plus, why are you making me give APS more of my hard earned money by making me keep the AC running? If I have to hear the weather people on the morning news say that we are above normal one more time, I will lose it. Since the economy is in the tank and my house (which I responsibly still make my mortgage payments on) is worth dick, which means I can't move out of this hell hole, can't you give me some decent, maybe even below normal temps. I want the morning news people to talk about how cold its going to be. Please, Please I am begging you....help me out a little. I really don't ask for much.
Sincerely,
Snickity

$Finances$
I have to laugh when I hear most people talk about money. It seems that now a days no one has priorities. When did foreclosure become the norm? Or why do people believe they have no other route to go, but short sale their home, but then go to football games? I get that the money is yours and you feel you can do whatever you want with it, but it doesn't seem that you have learned from your previous financial mistakes. If you have can't afford your home anymore, than the money I assume you are not paying the bank should go into savings (or paying off debt, which I am sure you have). I understand people like to "escape" from reality every once in a while, but it doesn't seems appropriate to go to Vegas where you are paying for a room, booze, gambling....etc. I guess I am bitter because I am annoyed that my husband and I are stuck underneath a mortgage that we can't get out from (at least until something either happens with the economy or housing market). Unfortunately my husband and I are extremely honest and responsible when it comes to commitments we have made. We would love to walk away and spend, spend, spend the money we are bringing in, but we actually are paying our mortgage. I wish more people would do the same, then maybe the housing market wouldn't be nearly as bad. Please people, be a little more responsible and maybe our economy wouldn't be in such shambles.

Co-Worker
Has anyone ever worked with someone they hate so much they just want to strangle them every time you have to see or hear them? Well I do! My hatred toward this person has progressed over the years. I am nit sure why I let him get to me, but I just can't stand him. He has to stick his nose where it doesn't belong, can't' seem to do anything himself and never offers anything productive. He usually ends up making things worse or sticking his foot in his mouth in the end. He feels that he is more important than you because he is a "program manager", but in fact his position is probably less important than yours. Without me you wouldn't get paid....what do you say to that! Not that someone else couldn't do payroll, but you not what I mean. Not only is the person annoying, but he is absolutely disgusting! I don't even want to step foot in his cube and if I have to I make sure that I sanitize myself. How can one person so absolutely useless and disgusting still have a job? He offers no value to the company, in fact he is using good salary dollars which could be used on someone worth something. I am just waiting for the day I can just tell him what I think. I know he would brush it off and say that "I am crazy" or something like that, but ohh well. I t might actually make him think, but I doubt it.

Stop bragging about your Staycation!
I am of the belief that vacation time (given by your employer) is meant to be used as such....for a vacation!!! I don't see the point in using vacation time to stay at home and watch TV. I have been forced to listen to a co-worker "brag" to people about his staycation. I want to just go over there and scream "No one is impressed by you taking your kids to a d-backs game!!!". If you plan on taking a staycation this year because money is tight or what not, fine, just don't talk about it like you went to Europe and stayed at the Ritz Carlton (not sure if that hotel even exists in Europe, but you get my drift). Happy VACATIONING everyone! :)

Stupid City of Surprise!
So, we got a notice from the HOA stating that we needed to trim our tree otherwise we would get fined. Well I finally made Foo call the management company to find out what tree they were talking about and what their "tree trimming rules" were. Well when he called no one answered, so he left a message. Foo received a call from the management company later tonight. We come to find out that it wasn't the HOA asking us to trim our tree, but the city of surprise "cracking" down on the trees along the street. The lady told Foo that they are asking for the tree to be trimmed to 8ft on the sidewalk side and 13 ft on the street side. Why the hell would I trim my tree lopsided. Plus I don't know anyone in the neighborhood that is 8ft tall, so why does it need to be trimmed that high on the sidewalk side. I was so pissed!!! I thought the HOA was getting on our case about our tree (which is perfectly fine), when it was really the city! Why couldn't the city send out a notice asking us to trim our trees to their specifications, not get the HOAs involved?! Luckily it sounded like the management company was more concerned with the sidewalk side than the street side, so Foo will be trimming our tree a little this weekend. We don't want to violate those 8ft tall people walking on our sidewalks! I think the city of surprise has more important things they need to worry about instead of peoples trees, like replacing the funds they "borrowed" to build their ridiculous city hall!!!
You aren't as important as you think you are......
I find it funny when people think they are more important than they really are. They walk around every day with this "air" about them, like my "shit don't stink" type of attitude. Why is that? Depending on the situation, I think people are allowed some "attitude" about them. But to have it all the time is ridiculous. You aren't that important! Get over yourself! You know you are arrogant when you have your admin make your hair appts for you!

Checking Bags
Brooke dropped me off at MSP today, so I can make my way back to PHX (yippie!!) I was waiting in line to check my bag and print my boarding pass (there was only 2 people in front of me). They moved and I was next when I hear this woman yelling from down the row (she was not an employee by the way). There is an open kiosk down here!! Well the open kiosks next to her were for people that were not checking bags. I clearly had a bag to check. I ignored her and went to the next open kiosk that would let me check a bag. I have a college education and can clearly read the GIANT signs above the kiosks. Don't yell across the room about something you clearly know nothing about!!
PS - Terminal 2 at MSP is great! The security line was minimal and the gates are definitely not as crazy as Sky Harbor. I wish I flew out of the terminal more often!

Damn You 6 o'clock
Why does Foo have to be the only person in our dept with any tech knowledge. We have to be in to work at 6am! This means waking up at 4am to be in on time. Long story short, I like to sleep and I am going to be a bear tomorrow because I didn't get my normal beauty sleep. Tomorrow will not be my day!
PS - People learn how to use a fucking computer!

My Lunch Time
Most days Foo and I eat lunch in our break room at work. The reason i don't eat at my desk is because I want to get a break from being there, so I try to get that by eating in the break room. Most of the time I am just annoyed by the goings on while I am in there. I would love to be able to read peacefully during my break but I don't get that chance (unless its near a holiday and a lot of people take off). Most of the time I am having to listen to annoying people drone on and on about their stupid lives, which I could care less about. I don't care about your ex husband or if he is in rehab or jail. I don't care about your kids or your kids friends and their stupid problems. I don't need to hear your cell phone conversations with whomever. There are 2 people that especially annoy me. The first is a person that can't seem to eat anything (and I mean anything) without slurping (usually reserved for soup) and then chomping it with her mouth open. It's gross for one and very aggravating. The second person comes into the break room starts talking as soon as he sits down and knows everything about every topic. If this guy is so smart, why isn't he in MENSA or some equivalent smarty pants group? One of these days I am going to explode and its not going to be pretty. I would love for just one day to have peace and quiet while I am on my lunch break. So in the mean time shut up and just eat your lunch!

Why did you come to work!
I understand that everyone that has a job has a certain task to do everyday, but there is no excuse to come to work when you are sick. I don't care if you "feel" you are important, trust me you're not. The company you work for will not fall apart if you don't come in for a day or two. I don't want to have to keep sanitizing my hands and everything you touch. I have travel plans soon and don't want to be battling a cold before or during my trip. Every time you blow your nose or cough into your hand, you should be sanitizing them, whether it be washing your hands or using hand sanitizer. When one person is sick that usually means everyone will be sick at one time or another in the dept. So, the next time you plan on coming into the office sick....DON'T!

Vague on Facebook
Short rant tonight.....
Why do people have to be vague on Facebook? If you are going to bother posting something, just come out and say it. "I am pregnant", My family are a bunch of assholes", "I hate my job"....etc. I'll admit it, I'm nosey. I want to read people's posts and know exactly what they are saying. I don't want to have to read between the lines or have to ask questions to find out what is going on or how you feel.

Looking Back.....
Looking back my parents always complained about people that took advantage of the system, without earning any of it, ie: welfare, medicaid, etc. I listened and acknowledged and then somewhat shrugged it off. As I have gotten older, have a full time job, a house and a family (and yes a husband and 3 dogs are a family), I have definitely gotten more bitter about govt funded programs. Yes, I understand that some people really need govt assistance in time of need and that is what it was intended to be. These programs in their purest forms are meant to help people in need during extreme financial hardships. I get extremely irritated when people abuse these programs. I pay my taxes, which means I (and every other tax payer) funds these programs. Why is it that citizens on welfare and other programs have more than I do? I can't afford to go out and buy expensive cameras, tablets and laptops, while people committing fraud feel they can go spend all their money and feel it is appropriate to ask for assistance. On top of that add an infant and another one on the way. Before Foo and I decided we weren't going to have kids, we really took a hard look at our finances and (at that time) decided we needed to wait if we were going to live a comfortable life and bring a child into the world. Why is it that people receive more money the more children they have? Shouldn't it be the more kids, the less money you receive? Wouldn't this deter women from having so many unplanned/unwanted children, if they knew they weren't going to be supported. Final thought before bed...... I don't want to hear you bitch about businesses not paying your taxes (because you are considered an independent contractor), but then you just don't pay them yourself. Since you "don't" have any money, then you sign up for assistance, but have nicer things than I do. Shut your face, pay your taxes (and back taxes) and become a responsible member of society.

Not Much to Report
I really don't have anything to rant about today. I am so busy at work sending out iPad2s to our Area Field Managers that I haven't had time to breath. All I know is that I will be busy watching So You Think You Can Dance tomorrow! Finally they are through auditions and the actual competition can begin. Bring it on! I look forward to this every year. Hopefully tomorrow I will have something more exciting to talk about, so until then, Goodnight.

Linen Pants
Linen.....
I have always thought of linen clothing as "resort wear". The type of stuff you would wear if you were on the beach in Fiji walking along during the sunset. I never pictured myself, or anyone else for that matter, wearing linen on a daily basis. Today Foo and I were eating lunch at Chipotle (Foo's newest obsession). Two women walked in and one of them was wearing white linen pants. Not only was she wearing linen pants, but her bright magenta shirt was tucked into them, which was so obvious it just looked terrible. Since linen is ridiculously see through, it didn't look like she was wearing any underwear. On top of all that the pants were so tight on her that the stitching on the seam was pulling apart, like hanging on for dear life. Moral of the story, don't wear white linen pants unless you are vacation and if you are wearing said pants (on vacation, I am not condoning wearing them any other time) wear underwear, get a pair that fits properly and don't tuck your shirt into them.

Observation while at lunch
Today while at lunch at Mr Goodcents I couldn't help but observe a couple annoying things today. First, old men need to stop dying their hair. Either dye it correctly or stop dying it at all. You aren't fooling anyone by dying the top, but leaving the edges your natural color. Second, people that have small children and let them eat off of a bare table. There is no way of knowing who sneezed, coughed or who knows what else on that table which you are letting your kid eat off of. Third, and last but not least, stop having kids you are not willing to parent. I don't want to have to sit next to 3 bratty kids while you wait in line for your food. Until another time :)

Shopping at Costco
Every time we go to COSTCO I love to look at what people have in their shopping carts. I have to laugh most of the time. Costco is the one store where people buy so many things that they just don't need or will never use. Also, if you are a senior citizen, why is your shopping cart full of giant bulk items? Since Foo and I don't have children, there are things we end up not buying because we know we will never use the item either before it spoils or there is just too much of one item. The same ideology should be running through senior's heads. Just because the price is good doesn't mean you have to buy it, especially if you end up wasting most of it. I have to say though that COSTCO is one of my favorite stores. The products sold there are great. They even have cute clothes. Today they had Popcornopolis at our COSTCO. Foo Loves this stuff. They don't have any stores in AZ, so he ended up getting 6 packs of popcorn to last him until they come back next time (hopefully). I especially love their food. They have some of the best produce and a lot of it is organic. Their pre-made meals are great too, I just wish they had nutritional information on it, so I can point my meals easier. I am doing Weight Watchers, if you couldn't guess that by the pointing meals comment. We just bought 93% lean ground turkey for $2.29 a pound. I rarely see it any cheaper at a regular grocery store. Definitely get your bread and meats there as well, unless your local market is having a smoking sale. Usually COCTCO is cheaper. One final comment before I leave. If you buy food in bulk at COSTCO, make sure you invest in a Food Saver. This product will definitely help you get your bang out of your buck when buying meat, cheese, bread and produce.
